Each year, St Anne's publishes an Annual Review. It is intended for all those who have an interest in the future of the College, and who support its aims.

St Anne’s is an academic community that reaches far beyond those who live and work in the College. We have increasingly wide and close contact with our alumnae, former Fellows and staff, and the families of those who study here. The interconnection of past and present members of the College gives it its life and values.

Each generation speaks of St Anne’s in the same terms: its informal friendliness, its down to earth openness to those coming to it from the world beyond, its serious mindedness in pursuit of its goals, and its commitment to intellectual emancipation.

Our academic objectives are the foundation of all we do. Our purposes remain the same across generations:

  • to promote academic excellence, through the research, the publications and other activities of our Fellows, and to pass on that learning through teaching;
  • to foster intellectual emancipation in our wider society, through the offering of opportunities, based on our assessment of academic potential, to those who wish to study here.

We stand out in the university for the range of different cultures and backgrounds in our student body. To achieve our goal of being the best example of what a modern College can be in the modern University of Oxford, we must be clear about our academic priorities and tough-minded about the financial choices we need to make in order to achieve them.
