The ASM South of England Branch hope that you can join them for their autumn event – a talk by Dr Imogen Goold, Fellow and Tutor in Law at St Anne’s, who has done extensive research on bioethics and the regulation of medicine, particularly reproductive medicine, organ donation and body-part ownership.
Imogen’s undergraduate and postgraduate education were at the University of Tasmania, and before coming to Oxford in 2006 she was Research Fellow, Centre for Law and Genetics, University of Tasmania, and worked for the World Health Organisation in 2005 in the Ethics section of the Human Genetics Program. She has published on “Lawyers’ Medicine: The Interaction of the Medical Profession and the Law”, and her forthcoming book Flesh and Blood: Owning Our Bodies and Their Parts will be published next year.
Imogen has kindly agreed to talk about her research, and her talk, in the Church room at United Church, Jewry Street, Winchester, SO23 8RZ (see over for a map and directions) will be followed by a buffet lunch for those who would like to stay. Public car parking is available at a nearby multi-storey car park with entrances in Sussex Street and Tower Street (see map on booking form) and for those coming from a distance, Park and Ride is a possibility: The nearest bus stop is at Winchester Railway Station.
