Launch of the Tim Gardam Student Welfare Fund campaign

The Principal, Tim Gardam, leaves at the end of the academic year. Because of Tim’s commitment, the College has significantly increased welfare support for students, many of whom in the course of their degree find themselves in need of counselling and guidance. For some, the course proves unbearably stressful; others suffer when parents split up, or friendships turn sour.

St Anne’s has appointed a Dean of Welfare, a very experienced retired college doctor, who is available for students to share their worries, and has a very close relationship with the University Counselling Service. Over the past few years, the costs to the College of welfare provision have markedly increased. Tim would love to see an endowed fund established to ensure the College could afford to meet this intensifying demand. If we can raise £260,000 over the next six months, this would produce around £10,000 annually to underpin student welfare costs at College.

St Anne’s can receive charitable donations in various ways. You can make a single or regular gift at a level of your choice. Complete and return a donation form to the Development Office or make a gift online at

Tim Gardam, Principal:

‘Over my time here I have seen the complexities of student life and the growth of the essential role that College plays in supporting them throughout their time with us. I would be delighted, if through the generosity of alumnae and friends, we could the secure the future of welfare provision at St Anne’s.’
