Tom Stennett wins Magellan Prize

Our congratulations go to Tom Stennett (2012) who has won the 2016-17 Magellan Prize for most outstanding graduate in Portuguese.

The Magellan Prize, established in commemoration of the feats of the great sixteenth-century Portuguese navigator Fernando de Magalhaes, is awarded each year to the best student beginning graduate studies in the University of Oxford in the language, literature, culture, or history of the Portuguese speaking world.

The prize was awarded on Tuesday by a descendant of the explorer Magellan himself, Manuel Villas-Boas. It is the first time a St Anne's student has won this.
