
Diana Wynne Jones (English, 1953) was born 16 August 1934 and died of lung cancer on 26 March 2011. She was a British writer, principally of fantasy novels for children and adults. Her works include the Chrestomanici series, and the novels Howl's Moving Castle and Dark Lord of Derkholm which won the 1999 Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children's Literature.
