Patrick McGuinness honoured by French Government

Patrick McGuinness – Professor of French and Comparative Literature, Tutor and Fellow in French at St Anne's – has been named Chevalier dans L'Ordre des Palmes académiques by the French government.

This is an award that dates back to 1808 and Napoleon, although in its current form it dates from 1955. It is awarded to distinguished academics from France and abroad who have made major contributions to French national education or to the expansion of French culture in the rest of the world.
