Mara clocked two hours, 27 minutes and 24 seconds in November's Yokohama marathon to put herself in contention for selection.
Mara recently returned from Japan to live in the UK to better prepare for the London 2012 Olympics. She currently holds the second fastest time ever by a British woman over the marathon, behind the world-record holder, and finished 6th at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and 2nd in the 2009 London Marathon. We wish Mara the best of luck for London 2012.
