We are delighted to announce that the 2012 Telephone Campaign raised an amazing £262,888! At almost double the amount raised in 2011, this is the most that has ever been pledged in a telethon at St Anne’s and we are hugely grateful to the Senior Members, Parents and Friends who made a donation.
We have been extremely fortunate to have secured matched funding for the 2012 Telephone Campaign from Senior Member Mike Danson (Jurisprudence, 1982). This generous offer means that the total amount raised will in fact be worth over twice as much to the College, once Gift Aid has been reclaimed.
Twenty two enthusiastic and dedicated St Anne’s undergraduates and graduates spent the evenings and weekends of the last three weeks in seminar rooms in 48 Woodstock Road enjoying conversations with over 1,300 Senior Members, Parents and Friends, with half of those contacted choosing to donate.
The money raised will go towards the Student Support Fund. St Anne’s makes a loss of £4,000 per undergraduate each year maintaining the tutorial system, and the donations that are received during the Telephone Campaign go a long way towards helping secure the teaching that defines an Oxford education. The money also allows us to offer bursaries and admit the best applicants regardless of their financial background, as well as contributing towards graduate scholarships, the Library, and student accommodation and facilities.
Thank you very much to everyone who contributed.
