Kellen McGee (Visiting Student from Johns Hopkins University, English, 2011) completed the London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April, winning the women’s Varsity match in only her second ever marathon.
The London Marathon is the world’s largest marathon, with the course taking in many of London’s most famous landmarks. For further information about the competition see the Virgin London Marathon website.
The Varsity match was won by Cambridge, who put forward a team of seasoned marathon runners, with the Oxford team unfortunately having lost three strong competitors due to injury in the two weeks before the Marathon. Neil Riley was the first Oxford man, taking the bronze medal in the men’s race.
Our congratulations go to Kellen.
