Victoria was educated in Canada, completing a joint Honours Bachelors degree in Linguistics and Psychology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She then completed her Master’s in Educational Psychology at McGill University in Montréal, Canada before her PhD in Second Language Education, also at McGill University. She moved to England approximately 20 years ago and was Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire before she took up her appointment in the Department of Education at Oxford in 2004.
