St Anne's has an excellent reputation for student welfare, and we encourage everyone to be familiar with what is available. There is always someone who can help with welfare advice, and we have extensive contacts with a broad range of other qualified professionals in the University.

The 'welfare team' includes:

  • The Senior Tutor, who oversees and co-ordinates welfare support and policy for the College;
  • The Treasurer, who is on hand to help with financial concerns;
  • The College Doctor;
  • The College Nurse, who is in College on a daily basis and is available to discuss all manner of medical and welfare issues;
  • The College Counsellor, who is also in College regularly;
  • The Assistant Deans, postgraduates who live in College among their fellow students;
  • The JCR welfare reps, who provide undergraduates with a link to the rest of the College welfare team and organize regular welfare teas and movie nights;
  • The MCR welfare rep, who does this for graduate students.

While we encourage students to take responsibility for themselves, we aim to ensure that there is always someone available to speak to at times when help is needed.

Disability

St Anne's has its own Student Disability Adviser, Ms Zoe Sparrowhawk. She is available to speak to for advice on the practical support available to students with disabilities. She works closely – and in confidence – with the Senior Tutor, College Secretary, Tutors, Medical Professionals and the University Disability Office, and is available to speak to at any stage of your studies. Students who have declared a disability will be invited to a meeting with the Disability Adviser and their personal tutor or the College Nurse to discuss their individual requirements and to complete a Student Support Document.
