Two members of the University's large and research productive Department of Politics and International Relations are Fellows of St Anne's: Professor Neil MacFarlane and Dr Nigel Bowles.

Professor MacFarlane has been Head of Department since 2005, whilst Dr Bowles is currently Director of Graduate Studies in the Department and also serves as Director of the Rothermere American Institute. Both currently supervise doctoral students in the Department. Neil supervises within the fields of human security, and the international relations of the Caucasus; and Nigel within American government and politics.

The presence of two active and senior members of the Department in College, together with the finest Politics Library of any College in Oxford save only for St Antony's and Nuffield, has helped make St Anne's an attractive intellectual home for graduate students working for doctoral and master's degrees in Politics and International Relations. Graduate students here are positively supported throughout their careers, and are drawn in to the College's social scientific intellectual life through Subject Family events; frequent contact with Professor MacFarlane and Dr Bowles; and the busy graduate community within College.

Please see the links below for details of the postgraduate courses available in Politics and for information about how to apply. See also International Relations.
