Library

With some 110,000 volumes on-shelf, 130 current periodicals and 2,000 new books added each year, St Anne’s has one of the largest college libraries in Oxford.

The library is part of the University’s online catalogue, and offers access to other networked information services. All subjects are strongly stocked, but the library has some unusual additional strengths, for instance in linguistics, Chinese, education, and the modern English novel.

The Librarian and his staff attach particular importance to buying books as quickly as possible, often within 24 hours, in response to students' requests, and to helping students make the most of the various library resources available in Oxford. We make sure that multiple copies of the latest editions are provided.

You will find the library a comfortable, warm and supportive place for study.

Computing and IT

Networked computers are becoming essential tools in education, opening up access to archive material and journals and a huge, burgeoning range of other online resources.

Email is the default means of communication between students and their tutors, as well as for keeping in touch with family and friends at home and at other universities.

St Anne’s has become one of the most comprehensively networked colleges. Email and web terminals are dotted about the site, and all bedrooms have points for connecting personal computers to the University network.

The Computer Room, which is open 24 hours a day, provides a range of useful software packages and networked printers and scanners. The support of specialist computer staff is available should you have problems.
