Further details:

Who should make decisions about a child’s medical treatment? While almost invariably, this choice will fall to a parent, sometimes difficult conflicts arise, and the law must intervene. Sometimes a parent disagrees with what a doctor thinks is best. Sometimes parents disagree with one another. And sometimes, older children want to make their own choices, even if these may lead to their death. This lecture examines how the law approaches such situations and considers whether there is a need for change.
