6.00pm, Wednesday 22 March 2023

The Lillian Massey Building, University of Toronto

Corpus Christi College invites all University of Oxford alumni to join them in Toronto on 22 March for a fascinating talk by Professor Judith Olszowy-Schlanger, Professor in Hebrew and Jewish Studies at Corpus Christi and President of the Oxford Centre for Jewish Studies.

Corpus Christi’s impressive library collection includes works by Aristotle and Galileo, and our holdings of Hebraica and Judaica are outstanding in rarity and cultural value. We are the custodian of one of the most significant collections of Anglo-Jewish manuscripts in the world, as well as a collection of early printed books relevant to Jewish history. The Hebraica illustrate the history of the Jews in England before their expulsion in 1290, demonstrating the important role the Jewish community played in the intellectual and economic life of England in the thirteenth century.

We hope you will join us to learn more about these fascinating manuscript treasures on 22 March. If you would like to attend the talk, please email Martha Baskerville at development@ccc.ox.ac.uk to register.
