The Governing Body of St Anne’s College invites applications for a Stipendiary Lecturer in Medical Sciences, tenable from 15 September 2026 for a fixed term of one year.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, talented lecturer able to undertake three contact hours a week of tutorial and/or small class teaching averaged over the three eight-week terms of the academic year 2026–27. Duties will include setting and marking written work, assisting students with study skills, revision and essay writing, submitting reports, and providing assistance with undergraduate admissions if requested. Alongside a proven teaching ability you will have good communication skills and be able to participate in pastoral and organisation tasks within the College.
One of the largest Colleges in the University of Oxford, with around 860 students, St Anne’s is down to earth, ambitious, outward facing and collaborative. We aspire to understand the world and change it for the better.
St Anne’s admits six students each year for the six-year standard medicine course and four students to the four-year graduate-entry medicine course. Two students each year read for a four-year integrated Masters programme in Biomedical Sciences. At graduate level, St Anne’s normally has about 14 students at any one time reading towards Masters degrees and about 20 students at any one time reading towards DPhil degrees. The College also normally attracts about seven students a year from overseas, who are non-matriculated visiting students.
