The Drapers’ Company Non-Stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship
Earth Sciences or Material Science
The Governing Body of St Anne's College invites applications for The Drapers’ Company Non-Stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship, tenable from 1 October 2018. The purpose of the Fellowship is to encourage the holder to carry out original research in either Earth Sciences or Material Science, while at the same time participating in the academic and social life of the College. There may be the opportunity to provide a limited amount of specialised teaching to undergraduates, and/or play a role in subject family events.
Applications will be considered from recent doctoral graduates (doctorate completed within the last 6 years), or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (related to either Earth Sciences or Materials Science). Candidates registered for doctorates at other universities are eligible.
The successful applicant must either be in a fully funded research position within a department of the University of Oxford, or possess a firm offer of such a position at the time of interview. The successful applicant’s employment contract with the University should last at least 12 months from their proposed start date for the JRF (the JRF is available to start preferably on 1 October 2018; it must start by 6 January 2019). Applications will be judged primarily on the basis of the candidate’s potential to undertake a significant programme of research in some area of either Earth Sciences or Materials Science, as evidenced by their research proposal, publication record and academic references.
Please see the full further particulars and details on how to apply here.
The deadline for receipt of applications, including ALL references, is 8:30 am on 16th July 2018.
Applicants are encouraged to complete and return a voluntary equal opportunities form.
