Dean of Welfare

Fixed term, Part time (18 hours per week in term time)
Salary in the region of £15,000 per annum

The Dean of Welfare works closely with a large group of staff and students to support the wellbeing and welfare of undergraduate and graduate students within the College. 

The Dean of Welfare will normally be the first point of contact for students, and for the Assistant Deans who are dealing with students with welfare issues.  They will play a lead role in the College’s welfare provision and contribute to strategic decision making to ensure that the College supports and enhances the welfare and wellbeing of all its students in the best ways possible.

The Dean of Welfare will deal solely with student welfare issues. The Dean of Welfare will report to the Senior Tutor and will support the other College Officers, in particular the Dean, in both the handling of acute situations and the provision of ongoing support for students in difficulty or in need of advice.  In performing these functions they will also work with fellows, other academic staff and the Welfare team.  In addition, there will also be frequent contact with colleagues in other colleges and with the University’s central administration.

The post is tenable for one year in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal, starting from Monday of minus 1st Week of Michaelmas Term 2018 (24 September 2018).

The post holder will commit to being available for 18 hours a week concentrated mainly over the ten weeks of each term (0th to 9th week of each term), but working also occasional hours out of term.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to put people at their ease, organization and administrative skills, as well as relevant experience which might include providing pastoral care in an academic setting, and/or counselling, and/or dealing with a range of psychological, emotional and practical problems as a health or social care professional.  A good understanding of University life and work and students is essential.

Kitchen Porter (Full time)

Full time, permanent, £17,062 per annum

We are seeking a Kitchen Porter / Wash up.  The main duties will be to ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned thoroughly. Working 37.5 hours per week in the Catering department, the roster includes morning, day and evening shifts including weekends and shift times may vary depending on College needs.

Third Chef

Full time, permanent
Salary in the range of £23,014 - £25,097 per annum

(dependant on qualifications and experience).

There is a vacancy for the position of Third Chef in the Catering Department of St Anne’s College.   Working alongside the Head Chef, Deputy and Second Chefs, the main duties include the preparation for all food for staff, students and conference guests; occasionally running the kitchen; stock ordering and cleaning schedules.

The position will be full-time: 44 hours per week.  The roster will include weekends and straight and split shifts. Shift times may vary depending on College needs.

College Nurse

Permanent, Part time (20 hours per week during term time)
£23.39 per hour

Applications are invited for the post of College Nurse.  The successful person would preferably be available to commence employment on Monday 24th September 2018.

The Nurse will work 20 hours a week, on week days, Monday to Friday, for 10 weeks three times a year, encompassing weeks 0 to 9 of each University term.

The College Nurse will care for the physical, emotional and mental health needs of the College’s students while in residence in Oxford.  This will require close liaison with Welfare services within and outside the College.  Duties will include providing wound care and minor injury management, visiting students, holding appointment sessions and record keeping. 

The successful candidate will be a level 1 Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (general adult branch) and hold a degree level qualification in a relevant field of autonomous practice (or equivalent experience).  They will hold a diploma or other qualification(s) relevant to the clinical assessment and management of unwell adults and have clinical skills in the first-contact assessment and management of adults and young people with undifferentiated health problems.  Strong organisational skills and knowledge of IT are required. 

The position is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Biegun Warburg Junior Research Fellowship in Law

The Governing Body of St Anne's College invites applications for the Biegun Warburg Junior Research Fellowship, tenable from 1 October 2018. The JRF is open to those intending to pursue research in Law who are at an early stage of their academic career, typically at post-doctoral level. The Fellowship is offered for research in any area of Law.

Eligibility

Applications will be considered from doctoral graduates or candidates who are near completion of their doctorate. Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and minority ethnic candidates, who are under-represented in academic posts in St Anne’s College and in the University of Oxford.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be judged primarily on the basis of the candidate’s potential to undertake a significant and exciting programme of research in some area of Law as evidenced by their research proposal, publication record and academic references.


Purpose of the Post

The objectives of the College in making this appointment is primarily to develop the research profile and career of an early-career researcher; develop and strengthen the research profile of the College; and more generally to contribute to the goal of maintaining the University of Oxford as a leading centre for research in Law Studies. The Fellow will be expected to complete a research project and contribute to the intellectual life of the College.  It is expected that the Fellow will also undertake up to 3 hours of undergraduate teaching per week during term time for the College. 


Salary and Benefits

• Stipend, including 3 hours of teaching per week, will be £26,222 (this figure may be reduced to take account of any award or grant already held by or promised to the successful applicant).  
• A housing allowance of £4,466 pa will be paid. Alternatively free accommodation may be provided if available.
• The Fellow will be a member of the Senior Common Room, and will be entitled to all meals free during term, and breakfast and one main meal a day during vacation, except when the hall is closed.
• Research Allowance up to £1,000 per annum
• You will become a member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).

Casual Scout

From 4 hours up to 8 hours per day

St Anne’s College are looking for a casual Scout to join our team. 

Scouts are responsible for cleaning throughout the College including student rooms and social areas, teaching rooms and offices and preparing rooms for conference guests.

As a member of the Housekeeping Team, your working hours can range Monday to Friday from 6.30am up to 3.00pm with a ½ hour unpaid break.  Weekend work will be required on an as-needed basis.
As this is a casual role there is no guarantee of regular shift work.

The Catering Department of St Anne’s College are looking for casual Dining Hall General Assistants (waiting staff). Working in the Catering department, the roster includes mainly weekend shifts, however, day and evening shifts may also be available. Shift times may vary depending on College needs. As this is a casual role there is no guarantee of being offered any shifts. The main duties will be assisting in the preparation of dining rooms and serving of all meals to guests as well as carrying out other catering duties as required including coffee shop and bar work.
