Stipendiary Lecturer in Italian

Closing date noon Thursday 8th June

Salary £4,472 (Point 2, on the Recommended Scale For Stipendiary Lecturers 2016-17) for 2 contact hours per week.

The post holder will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated Stipendiary Lecturer able to undertake 2 contact hours of tutorial and/ or class teaching per week during the 24 weeks of full term across the academic year 2017-18. Tutorials may be given to both St Anne’s students and to those from other colleges under exchange arrangements.  No university post is associated with this Lecturership.

The post holder will be required to teach both Prelims Italian Literature papers (Paper III on Italian Lyric Poetry and Paper IV on Modern Italian Narrative). In addition, the post holder should be able to offer tutorial teaching in one or more options for the Final Honours School, ideally to include Paper VIII (Modern Italian Literature) or Paper IX (Dante). Other period or Linguistics specialisms will be considered.

RSH Wardens - Internal applicants only

Wardens Required for Robert Saunders House,
45% rent reduction, £17 per 8 hour on-call shift

St Anne’s College are seeking 4 new RSH Wardens.  We are looking for St Anne’s graduate students who will live at Robert Saunders House (RSH) in Summertown and be a first response/point of contact to deal with emergencies.  You will be offered on-call shifts, including days, nights and weekends:

Monday to Friday 1600pm to Midnight
   Midnight to 0800am
Saturday/Sunday 0800am to 1600pm
   1600pm to Midnight
   Midnight to 0800am


While on-call you will be the first point of contact for emergencies e.g.  medical issues, building evacuation, and dealing with disturbances.  Other duties include meeting new St Anne’s graduate students in the absence of the Accommodation Department. 

You will be paid £17 per shift and, subject to working an average of 3 sessions per week, you will receive a 45% discount on your accommodation.   Wardens are expected to undertake First Aid and Fire Marshal Training.   The post runs for 42 continuous weeks – commencing on 1 October 2017.  An earlier start may be available on request (from 17th July 2017).    This is a casual role and we cannot guarantee shifts or ongoing work.

Assistant Deans

£3,150 per annum, free accommodation and meals within college
St Anne’s College seeks to appoint two Assistant Deans, for 1 year from 1st September 2017.  The Assistant Deans are part of a team of three which works to maintain an atmosphere in the College that is conducive to study, in cooperation with the  Dean, Senior Tutor, Dean of Welfare, and other College Officers. The Assistant Deans are required to live in college, and will be provided with free single-room accommodation and meals. The stipend is £3,150 per annum.

Departmental Lecturer in Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science

The Faculty of Philosophy, University of Oxford, in association with St Anne’s College, intends to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in the Philosophy of Mind to cover the teaching and other duties of the permanent postholder. This post is tenable from 1 October 2017 for a fixed term of 22 months.

Casual Kitchen Porter

£7.50 per hour plus 91p per hour holiday pay. Total payable per hour £8.41.

Working in the Catering department, the roster includes evening and weekend shifts. The main duties will be to ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned thoroughly.  This is a casual role with no guarantee of being offered shifts.  You do not need to be available for all shifts.

Casual Chef

June-September 2017
£10.00 per hour plus £1.21 per hour holiday pay.  Total payable per hour £11.21.

The Catering Department of St Anne’s College are looking for a Casual Chef to work over the busy summer period.  The roster will include weekends and straight and split shifts. In any week you might be asked to work up to a maximum of 40 hours. Shift times may vary depending on College needs.  The successful applicant will need to provide their own Chef Whites.

The Casual Chef will work alongside the Head Chef and Chefs preparing all food for staff, students and conference guests. A good knowledge of working in a busy kitchen is required.
