Eleanor studied Zoology at the University of Exeter, before completing an MRes in Biodiversity, Evolution and Conservation at University College London and a PhD at the University of Reading. She subsequently held postdoctoral research positions at the University of Reading and the University of Oxford before joining St Anne’s as a Fellow.
Eleanor’s research lies at the intersection of quantitative and community ecology, using mathematical and statistical approaches to understand how species interact and coexist. She is particularly interested in the processes that maintain the extraordinary diversity of tropical forests, and in how interactions between plants and their natural enemies shape patterns of species abundance and coexistence.
