FRIENDS of Christ Church Cathedral: A talk on the history of one of Oxford’s most unusual colleges

Exhibition and talk by Dr David Smith. David was for over 25 years the College Librarian and Archivist at St Anne’s and will tell the story of how the College came into being which was established as the Society of Home Students in 1879 and formally became a College in 1952.

After the buffet lunch there will be time to view the exhibition and talk to the former Librarian.

Date : Monday 13th April 2026

Time : 11.00 am – 2.00 pm

Cost: Friends and Guests £30 each. No tickets will be issued – there will be a list of attendees. Coffee and biscuits will be served at 11.00, followed by the talk at 11.15. Lunch will be at 12.30/45. There are only 25 places. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
