We are delighted to welcome all Law students and students of St Anne’s to an upcoming Q&A with Lady Justice Sara Cockerill, taking place on Thursday, 12 February at 5 pm in the Tsuzuki Lecture Theatre, St Anne’s College.
Lady Justice Cockerill is a distinguished member of the English judiciary and Deputy Head of Civil Justice in the Court of Appeal, having been sworn in as a Lady Justice of Appeal in October 2025. She will be interviewed by St Anne’s Professor of Medical Law and Tutorial Fellow, Professor Imogen Goold.
A graduate of St Anne’s College, Oxford, where she read Jurisprudence and was awarded an Eldon Scholarship, Lady Justice Cockerill has had an exceptional legal career. Called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1990, she specialised in commercial law and compelled evidence before her appointment as a High Court Judge in 2017.
In addition to her judicial work, Lady Justice Cockerill is an accomplished author of legal texts and books on medieval history, including studies of Eleanor of Castile and Eleanor of Aquitaine.
This event will be a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the leading figures in the UK legal system, and to engage with her on topics spanning legal practice, judicial leadership, and the role of law in society.
We very much hope you will join us for what promises to be an insightful and memorable discussion.
