Come and play in our Alumnae vs Students Golf Tournament 2027
Following the success of our Students vs Alumnae Golf Tournament 2026 — a Ryder Cup-style match between current students and alumnae — we are now planning next year’s tournament and would like to invite alumnae to join us. The event will take place on Friday 30th April 2027, at Studley Wood Golf Club. We begin at midday with coffee, tea and bacon rolls, followed by 18 holes of friendly and competitive golf. There will also be prizes for nearest the pin and longest drive, as well as an opportunity to get to know everyone over dinner in the clubhouse. All alumnae are warmly welcome, and the students are keen to defend the trophy! If you would like to take part, or have any questions, please do get in touch with stacey.kennedy@st-annes.ox.ac.uk.
St Anne’s College Golf Club was founded in Trinity Term last year by Charlie Payne and Matthew Farnfield, with the aim of giving students the opportunity to try golf for the first time or continue playing during their time at Oxford. Places in the University Golf Club are highly competitive, and with no intermediate team or amateur training programme, it can be difficult for golfers to develop to a university-level standard. Moreover, golf can be an expensive and sometimes intimidating sport, creating barriers for beginners who may not own clubs or know anyone else who plays. The club now has around 10 regular members, as well as more than 25 students who join occasionally. For many, the club has been the start of a new hobby and, hopefully, something they will continue throughout their time at St Anne’s and beyond. For those who already play, it has been a great opportunity to improve their game and meet new people.
Booking will open soon, in the meantime please contact: Stacey.Kennedy@St-Annes.ox.ac.uk
