Lecturer in Microbiology
Fran is a professional state registered Biomedical Scientist and began her career working in UK Government veterinary and NHS diagnostic microbiology labs. An MSc research project initiated her move to research at Oxford University, with a special interest in diseases that affect both humans and animals. She is an expert advisor for a number of UK and global health agencies in the field of Campylobacter.
Undergraduate: Microbiology and Infectious Disease (Biology), BM Principles of Pathology (Medicine)
Graduate: MBiol and DPhil supervision in microbiology and infectious disease
Current research projects include tracing zoonotic sources of antimicrobial resistance, gut health and animal welfare as a means to reducing antibiotic use in agriculture, and Campylobacter in Africa.
