Be Well, Do Well Week Events
Our Dean of Welfare has been working with the JCR and MCR Welfare reps to organise a range of activities throughout Week 1. Though some of these activities are taking place on site (with social distancing measures), they will all be accessible via Zoom or Teams so on one is left behind!
Monday: Be Well, Do Well Event – Online Tutor Panel, Top Tips for Exam Time
Kicking off Be Well, Do Well Week is an event to get you ready for exam season. An online panel of tutors will offer their advice on how to do well in assessments, including preparing for and sitting online exams. The panel will last for around 40 minutes, including an opportunity for a Q&A. After this, there will be a number of breakout sessions for students to have a chat and discuss their own tips.
Tuesday: Quiz on the Quad
Just when you think we have run out of general knowledge questions, we come up with yet another quiz! There is no need to sign up, just come along to the quad or join the zoom stream to join in!
Wednesday: Mind over Mood Online Seminar
In this seminar, Dean of Welfare, Kirren Mahmoud, will share some ideas from mindfulness and emotional regulation that may help you with understanding and accepting any difficult feelings; learning skills to manage them and being able to make positive changes.
Thursday: At Home Pottery Painting & Origami
The MCR Welfare Reps have organised an at-home pottery painting session on a first-come-first-serve basis. This event will be held in the quad and online, however, if you are not on-site you will have to source your own pottery to paint. If you do not make the list for this event, or if you are not in Oxford, you are welcome the Origami session which will also be held in the quad and online.
Please sign up using this form.
Friday: Welfare Walk & Zoom
Looking to meet some new faces? Sign up here to be put into a group of four other students for either a welfare walk around the uni parks, or a friendly zoom chat (if you are not on-site). The welfare team are also kindly offering a £2 per person reimbursement for a drink or snack to treat yourself to. Simply keep the receipt and send it to Maya or Robb.
Links to Zoom/TEAMS events can be found in the What’s On or JCR/MCR Newsletter.
