Bursary Start of Year Report

You have applied for a bursary and we hope that it will help you during your time at St Anne’s College.

We rely on the philanthropic support of our alumnae and donors to help us fund our bursary programmes across St Anne’s. As you would imagine our donors are always very interested to understand what the funding will mean to you as a recipient. We would therefore like to ask you to complete this form to give us an overview of what the funding means to you, how you may use it and the difference it will make. This statement is a compulsory part of our philanthropic reporting and is your chance to explain how their support will make a difference to your academic studies, wellbeing and future.

To help you, please answer the questions below and as this is not a formal academic report, please use a personal tone, ensuring it is appropriate and engaging. Many of the donors were students at St Anne’s College themselves once and they are really interested in your wellbeing, studies and future aspirations.

If you are about to finish your course, please also use this as an opportunity to reflect on your time here at St Anne’s College. Good luck and do keep in touch with us in the future.

This form should take no more than 30 minutes to complete. Please submit it as soon as possible (by the 30th November at latest).

If you have any queries regarding this report please contact us at development@st-annes.ox.ac.uk

Many thanks.

Please write a thank you message, that can be shared with our donors, explaining how you think the bursary may help your academic studies and personal development (a brief overview of what you plan to do this year, activities you would like to be involved in, topics of interest that you will be covering on your course. A best guess is fine)
Explain (as far as you would like to) the financial pressures you expect to face during your course and how the bursary will help you with these. (will the bursary help with the cost of living in Oxford, buying a laptop or books or other expenses? Please give your best guess)
What do you think you will most enjoy about your course and why? (Please give your best guess; maybe mention your studies, possible events, hobbies, volunteering)
Looking forward to next year; what are your personal development goals and what are you looking forward to learning? (is there something you think you will learn about yourself, or something from your course, or a new hobby/skill you wish to learn?)
How have you managed during the Covid-19 lockdown and how has it affected (or not) your work so far? (is it more difficult than expected to continue with your studies? What does it mean for you?
The report you have provided will be shared with our bursary donors. To demonstrate the impact of bursaries, we may also use quotes and photos from your information in our wider publications. If you do not wish for your responses to be used in this way, please tick the box above.
