Academic background

Barnum is completing his DPhil in mathematics in the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. Before coming to Oxford, he studied mathematics at Cambridge University.

Teaching

First and second year applied mathematics options, including Introductory Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Fourier Series and PDEs, Differential Equations, Calculus of Variations, and Integral Transforms.

Research interests

Barnum’s research focuses on developing mathematical models of microfluidic systems used within the pharmaceutical industry. This work draws on a range of techniques from applied mathematics and fluid dynamics
