Natalia Ares awarded Royal Society University Research Fellowship

St Anne’s congratulates our Postdoctoral Research Fellow Natalia Ares, who has been awarded a Royal Society University Research Fellowship. This fellowship supports University Research Fellows as they develop new projects and research teams in their work in the natural sciences, providing an opportunity to build an independent research career. Natalia’s project, ‘Quantum thermodynamics at the nanoscale’, commences this October.

At the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Natalia completed a master in Quantum Chaos before moving to Grenoble to undertake her PhD at CEA (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique). Her PhD work was on electronic transport and spin control in SiGe self-assembled quantum dots. Natalia started in the Materials Department at Oxford in 2013. Her focus is on radio-frequency reflectometry for fast and sensitive readout of spin qubits and carbon nanotube electromechanics.
