St Anne’s Society Secretary

St Anne's Society - Secretary Position

Can you support the St Anne’s Society in a voluntary capacity in the role of Secretary?

The St Anne’s Society (formerly known as the Association of Senior Members, or ASM) is an inclusive organisation, of which all students and alumnae of the College become life members automatically free of charge. The Society’s purpose is to engage St Anne’s alumnae all over the world with the College in its aspiration to understand the world and change it for the better. In particular, the new 2019 Committee is keen to support the College’s access and outreach activities aimed at promoting diversity and educational opportunity for all potential students, regardless of background.

The St Anne’s Society (SAS) is looking for a volunteer to join its main Committee in the role of secretary.
The role will involve;
• Preparing documentation for Committee meetings and writing notes (3x meetings per year)
• Posting material on SLACK (SAS’ office messaging system) so that it is accessible to all Committee members
• Supporting the College in their communications with alumnae and developing a network of active and engaged alumnae through effective use of social media and the St Anne’s Group on the Oxford Alumni Community website.
• Additional help to President/Vice-President as needed

The Post will be for up to three years in duration. The Committee meets three times a year and is made up of representatives from each of its eight local branches and from College.

This role is a great opportunity to support St Anne’s as part of a friendly inclusive group, to network with fellow St Anne’s alumnae and to develop new skills. It would be possible for the role to be split between more than one person, depending upon time availability, experience and skill.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the role further please contact Stella Charman (stellac@healthinjustice.co.uk), President of the Society. If you are interested in applying please email Helen Nicholson at helen.nicholson@st-annes.ox.ac.uk with a short paragraph detailing why you are interested and why you would be suited to undertaking the role. Please send this through by 7th February 2020.

We are particularly interested in hearing from recent graduates and those with social media skills.
