Non-Stipendiary Lectureship in History of Art

Fixed term from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2026

£698 retainer plus hourly teaching rates

One of the largest Colleges in the University of Oxford, with around 860 students, St Anne’s is known for being down-to earth, ambitious, outward facing and collaborative. We aspire to understand the world and change it for the better.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, talented lecturer able to undertake approximately two contact hours a week of tutorial and/or small class teaching averaged over the three eight-week terms of the academic year 2025/26. Duties will include setting and marking written work, assisting students with study skills, revision and essay writing, submitting reports, and providing assistance with undergraduate admissions if requested. 

You will teach History of Art, and in particular: give classes and tutorials, mark students’ weekly essays and problem questions to assess their progress, and provide guidance for improvement.

Alongside a proven teaching ability you will have good communication skills and be able to participate in pastoral and organisation tasks within the College.
